According to his publicist Press Here Publicity, Raphael Saadiq has announced dates for his upcoming US tour. Kicking off this spring, the tour will include performances at this year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival and Austin’s SXSW Music + Film Interactive Festival before wrapping in Tampa, Florida, Memorial Day weekend.

This tour follows his fifth solo studio album “Stone Rollin’” on March 22nd. Sticking with the retro vibe of 60’s and 70’s soul of previous CDs, Saadiq’s sound incorporates a futuristic twist.

Saadiq’s previous solo efforts include the albums “Instant Vintage”; “All Hits at the House of Blues”; “Ray Ray” and “The Way I See It.” Raphael is releasing two singles to radio from “Stone Rollin’”, each targeting a different format. The song “Good Man” hits Urban Adult Radio on February 8th, while the title track impacted the AAA format this past week and was the #1 ‘Most Added’. “Good Man” and “Stone Rollin’” are currently streaming exclusively on Saadiq’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/raphaelsaadiq

Featuring ten new tracks, “Stone Rollin’” is the follow up to Saadiq’s 2008 solo album “The Way I See It,” which had four Billboard R&B chart singles and was nominated for three GRAMMY Awards including Best R&B Album. Saadiq nods to his heroes like Chuck Berry, Stevie Wonder, Little Walter and Sly Stone, on “Stone Rollin’”. Additional tracks on the CD include: “Heart Attack,” “Go To Hell,” “Day Dreams,” featuring Robert Randolph who plays steel guitar on the track, and “Just Don’t,” which includes a guest appearance from one of Saadiq’s indie rock favorites Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon). Also making an appearance on that same song is one of Saadiq’s idols Larry Dunn of Earth, Wind and Fire, playing piano and a Moog solo.
