It’s been almost three years now that I posted three blogs, about how FUNK has been, and is still used in advertising within pop culture.  It’s practically 2012 and ain’t a damn thing changed.

Old Navy has recruited master FUNK-A-TEER Bootsy Collins for their latest ad campaign.  The living legend appears as a “Licensed Bootologist,” creating boots for feet of all sizes in the commercial.  A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted in 1997, Bootsy released his latest CD “Tha Funk Capital of the World” in June of 2011.  Ads for Old Navy featuring Collins began airing this month.  Funk is THE last genre of music that allowed true musicians to flourish and come to light.  At the end of the era of FUNK came the age of electronics, via the use of midi and sampling in hip-hop.  The FUNK train is alive and well, get on board and enjoy the ride.

For the preservation of FUNK
