D’Angelo is doing a European tour!  According to various websites, he rocked the stage of Filadelfiakyrkan Church in Stockholm last night.

Portions of the show hit YouTube almost immediately.  D’Angelo’s last CD Voodoo was released 12 years ago this month.  The singer performed his song “Chicken Grease” from the album, in addition to new tracks “Sugar Daddy” and “The Charade.”  Friends and fans had to wait five years in between his first and second album, there’s no word on when a new CD will hit the streets.

Van Hunt’s latest release “What Were You Hoping For” is a departure from his previous works.  An avant-garde presentation, it wasn’t what I was necessarily hoping for, but I remain a friend and fan of his music.  Hunt is presently scheduled to perform in Ferndale, Mississippi on March 22nd.  D’Angelo has several dates scheduled through Europe listed below.  Sets previously set for Berlin and Hamburg, Germany have already been cancelled.

1/ 29  —  Paris, France @ LeZenith

1/ 30 & 31 — Amsterdam, Netherlands @ Paradiso Gorte Zaal

2/ 3 & 4 — London, UK @ O2 Academy Brixton

2/ 6 — Oslo, Norway @ Sentrum Scene

2/ 7 — Zurich, Switzerland @ X-TRA

The above Tour sheet appeared on the okplayer website via the GoodTimeGirl’s blog.  She says that musicians bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Chris Dave join him on the trip.  Palladino has been down with D’Angelo since day one of his career.  This is the first run of shows for D’Angelo in ten years.
