It’s 1959 and after a family tragedy, Bev and Russ are moving out of their Chicago neighbourhood . The knock-down price means that a Black family will be moving in and to the dismay of their neighbor Carl, who tries to tell Bev and Russ – in front of the Black maid Francine, that they are undermining property values.

When riding the subway train yesterday, as I sat down, I noted a young man sitting across from me wearing a New York Knicks cap.  At the same time, I could see my own reflection, as I was wearing a Brooklyn Nets cap.  Liken to one of the titles of a CD released by one of the Nets owners, I thought the dynamic of two basketball teams for NYC are a Gift and a Curse.

Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids Buzzy’s Rebound is a promotional comic book that was first published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 1972, and has been reprinted several times since then. Alden Spurr “Mac” McWilliams was born February 2, 1916 in Greenwich, Connecticut. Alden drew for several comics including I Spy, Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Wild Wild West, and Star Trek.

This past June marked the third anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death.  As his birthday approaches I’m reminded that I still miss him.  He wasn’t a relative, but I grew up with him throughout my life.  I don’t believe you ever stop missing the ones you love, you just learn to live with it.

At this point it appears there’s no end to the inception of another “Reality Show.”  I put the term in quotation marks, because by now even those who are not media savvy, have come to realize that there’s a lot of scenarios and drama created amidst the actual ‘reality’ on these shows.  There’s a new show depicting aspects of reality, centered around a circle of sisters.

On a recent episode of Man v Food on the Travel Channel, my favorite network, the host Adam Richman ate at a deli in New Jersey called Harold’s. He ate a humongous sandwich and a huge piece of cake. So of course you know I had to go and check this place out for myself.

I just happened to be in Hoboken, NJ trying to retrieve a lost item that I left on New Jersey Transit and as I was leaving I turned the corner and noticed that there was no line to get into Carlo’s Bake Shop. The last time I visited Carlo’s, owned by The Cake Boss, the line was a couple of very long blocks long and it took me an hour and a half just to get to the door.

Back in June, Collector’s Quest visited The Museum of UnCut Funk to do a video shoot featuring our collection for their new website. Exactly what is Romney hiding? He provided 23 years of tax returns to John McCain when he was being vetted for VP. But McCain choose Sarah Palin because he felt she was the better candidate, and we all know how well that turned out. So what exactly did McCain find in his review of Romney’s tax returns that made him choose the crazy chick from Wasilla? Hmmm….I wonder.

In stark contrast to Mitt Romney’s disastrously arrogant debut on the world stage, where he put his foot in his mouth (and all kinds of other places) in every country he visited, you have the First Lady who represented the country proudly and honorably as the leader of the 2012 U.S. Olympics delegation and our ambassador of good will.

As I have already stated, I am an Olympics junkie. So I diligently watched most of the coverage, and as always, cheered loudly for Team USA. Although, I must admit I screamed a little louder for the brothers and sisters who represented our country so brilliantly. Okay, so I celebrated a little more exuberantly for my girls, because they did some serious work at these games. The London games were billed as the year of the woman, and on this measure they did not disappoint.

After spending a week in the Caribbean on vacation the last thing I had on my mind was getting in the kitchen and cooking dinner. So I got in my car and headed over to Montclair, NJ and went to Cuban Pete’s restaurant. A number of friends and colleagues had been recommending this joint for some time so I finally decided to visit.
