We are a little fanatical about our collection at the Museum Of UnCut Funk! We are in good company in our obsession as some of the biggest celebrities share our passion for collecting too.

Whoopi Goldberg is a comedienne, actress, singer-songwriter, political activist, author and talk show host. Whoopi is a collector of many things including Black memorabilia and Bakelite jewelry, which she has been seen wearing at the Academy Awards ceremonies.

Anita Pointer, lead singer of the singing group the Pointer Sisters, has always been a fan of flea markets, yard sales and antique shops, but it was while on a motor trip that she decided to specialize in Black memorabilia. “I’ve got so much stuff, if you spread it all out it would probably take up a basketball court,” Pointer said. “I’m in the process of inventorying everything. Most of my collection is bubble-wrapped and in boxes in the garage.”

Usain Bolt is the fastest main alive and the richest runner in the history of track and field with a personal net worth of $ 30 million. Usain has a penchant for very fast and very expensive cars. And  he owns a fleet of exotic vehicles.

Rapper Biz Markie is in fact a big Barbie collector. The announcement came via a Huffington Post interview recently where he told the world of his collection. It certainly is not the usual collection for one of the worlds rap artists but certainly shows there is always more to people than meets the eye!

Grant Henry Hill is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the NBA. As a collegian with Duke University and early in his professional career with the Detroit Pistons, Hill was widely considered to be one of the best all-around players in the game, often leading his team in points, rebounds and assists. Hill also slam dunks his art purchases by taking a keen interest in collecting Elizabeth Catlett and Edward Jackson.

ART Hello! Is is art you’re looking for? Well it seems it is for Lionel Richie. The soulful voice of the 80’s seems to be still going strong today despite his daughters antics! Music legend Lionel Richie is a huge art fan and a big collector of Sidney Nolan.

Michael Jordan has collected pretty much every basketball accolade that there is, on more than one occasion. So talented was this sportsman that he was able to play Baseball at the highest level as well, regardless for how long.  So it is no surprise that Michael also is at the top of the Art game and collects great artist works including Faith Ringgold.

Coin collecting has long been considered a hobby for kings and there have certainly been more than a few kings that have amassed amazing collections. French King Louis XIV had a collection that he visited on a daily basis and said that he always found something new to learn. Dennis Rodman has been seen and heard talking passionately about his love of coin collecting.
