“What Now?” is Kevin Hart’s fifth major LIVE stand-up outing.  I had the fortune to attend the second set on his stop in Boston last night at TD Garden — he killed it.  I LOVE comedy shows!  Over the years I’ve seen Paul Mooney, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, each of them two or more times.

Hart did his thing, talking about his children and the joys and challenges of growing success — closing the set encouraging love among all people, no matter what their background, race or gender.  Among other stand-up comic sets I’ve attended are Richard Belzer (back in the day), Damon Wayons, Bill Bellamy, and the late Richard Jeni.  I also saw Lily Tomlin’s Broadway show, “The Search For Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe,” when she revived the classic 1985 Tony Award winning opus in 2000.  Although I’ve interviewed Whoopi Goldberg, Wanda Sykes and Mo’Nique, I haven’t seen them on stage yet.  My aspiration to see the famous set of Joan Rivers & Don Rickles, will now never happen, but I hope to catch Margaret Cho, Sarah Silverman, Jim Gaffigan and Aziz Ansari at some point.

This weekend, Hart hits Atlanta doing shows Friday & Saturday, June 12th & 13th.  “What Now?” lands in New York July 7th – 9th, he’ll appear at both Madison Square Garden, and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.  The tour opened on April 9th in San Antonio, Texas, and closes in Toronto, Canada on August 2nd.  Yesterday morning, Hart joined locals in Boston for a 5K run, bonding with several of the cities citizens.  http://www.boston.com/entertainment/celebrity/2015/06/07/comedian-kevin-hart-invited-all-boston-run-spontaneous-with-him-did/wRFOnriUsUUNbkDESMWufP/story.html.  He even posted portions of the interaction on the “What Now?” tour Facebook page… https://www.facebook.com/hartkevin?pnref=story.

Spoiler Alert – Hart has changed the dynamic of pacing back and forth across the stage while delivering side-splitting jokes.  Instead, he’s created an awesome array of video backdrops, while he essentially stands center stage throughout the show.  Visuals include the skyline of the city he’s performing in; interior shots of his house; flashing lights that emulate wild animals outside his home; the ocean complete with shark and seagull; and a toilet seat at an airport.  The opening is a throw to James Bond’s famous montage for any movie start of films amidst the franchise.

From Hart’s “What Now?” tour FB page: “This picture damn near made me cry…..My kids aren’t allowed to watch my whole show, they are only allowed to come out during my last joke.  My photographer @kevinkwan327 captured this priceless moment tonight…This is getting framed ASAP!!!!”  Hart’s crew The Plastic Cup Boyz opened the show – they’re hilarious… https://www.facebook.com/ThePlasticCupBoyz
