The handwritings been on the wall for some time now. Once the advent of legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes came into existence, the evolution of decriminalization and recreational use, was on its way – now it’s arrived.
Although restrictions have not been lifted in all 50 states, the idea of prohibition steadily reveals itself well, as silly. I’ve continued to update an item I did a couple years ago, but I felt an entire new item was needed, as progress doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
Twenty-six states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form. Three other states will soon join them after recently passing measures permitting use of medical marijuana. Eight states and the District of Columbia have adopted more expansive laws legalizing marijuana for recreational use.
This past November, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada and California joined Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska. Montana, North Dakota, Arkansas and Florida all voted to legalize medical marijuana.
