Before We Were The Museum of UnCut Funk
Back in the day…before we were The Museum of UnCut Funk, we were Eclectic Connection Fine Art Gallery. We sold African Art, Animation Art, Black Fine Art, Contemporary Fine Art and provided archival custom framing. We dabbled in art auctions and did a lot of on site art consultation with our private and corporate clients. Clearly, we love art and culture. Now we have taken this passion to a different place and a different level! Right On!!!
What’s Happening At The Museum?
This month at The Museum Of UnCut Funk we are taking a look at what is happening in the old school sphere….some activity which we have been reporting on for a while, other items which are new…the latest in terms of remakes, biopics, comebacks and anything else that is funky! You can check out our latest old school intelligence on our home page in our top posts section.
Who Is The HCIC? (Head Curator In Charge)
That would be me, “Sista ToFunky”.
I am a starchild of the 1970’s. I love everything about this decade, the films, tv shows, music, fashion and of course the baaad attitude.
Why Focus On The 1970′s? Why Not?
The 1970’s was the coolest, funkiest decade EVER!
It was a time of pure funk, soul and the ultimate in cool, baby. Stylin’ and profilin’ in funky threads. The big ‘fro with the pick in it or the tight cornrows. Drivin’ the fly caddy or the deuce-and-a-quarter. Talkin’ jive and stickin’ it to the man by any means necessary. Movin’, groovin’ with serious bad ass ‘tude. Superfly. Superbad. Right On!
