FROM THE WASHINGTON POST: “A grand jury has declined to indict Darren Wilson, the white Ferguson, Mo. police officer whose fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager sparked days of turbulent protests and a national conversation about race and police interactions with African Americans, prosecutors said Monday. The decision means that Wilson, 28, will face no state charges in the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.”
#IfTheyGunnedMeDown is the latest phenomenon in social media. In lieu of too many tragic unjustified killings by police, people – particularly ethnic ones – are posting photos of themselves side-by-side in two different respects. One side is them in a respected capacity, while the other pictures them in what might be a questionable one.
Indelibly on my brain are thoughts of loved ones and experiences that have shaped who I am. Most memories I cherish – there’s a few I’m not so fond of, and a couple I’d like to forget. As every individual is made up of how they have lived and what one eats — what the hell is in the water of the ignorant children taking part in this detrimental “game” called “Knock Out”?
