Although I had a press pass and was on a mission to throughly cover this annual event, I took some time out to share the Comic Con experience with my sister. This was her first trip to Comic Con and we had a great time. It was a bit overwhelming for her and my feet, as after a couple of hours they felt like they couldn’t move another inch. But in the end it was truly worth it, as she enjoyed herself and spent as much money money as she could.
I saw Leonardo’s art after we friended each other on facebook. I immediately connected to his images and I was reminded of my days studying abroad in Senegal, West Africa. I spent a lot of time at the artist village and watched the Senegalese craftsman dye fabrics and create beautiful works of art. I asked Leonardo if he’d like in share his work with our visitors and I’m happy he did.
Today I attended the New York City Comic Con at the Jacob Javits Convention Center…talk about geeks, freaks and everything in between. What I found most interesting was the wide range of people in attendance young, old, black white and things I couldn’t being to describe.
