Remember when we were younger and simply enjoyed the show! In hindsight, I actually realize dynamics of the film(s) affected me, although I wasn’t thoroughly conscience of it at the time. The broadcast premiere of “West Side Story” was an event! I can still recall the excitement in my house, of it airing for the first time, over the course of two nights.
Filmmaker Alex Garland will make his directorial debut with “Ex Machina”! A Sci-Fi flick, he also wrote the screenplay for it, which follows his previous works “Sunshine,” “Never Let Me Go” and “Dredd.”
As I was prepping the blog that will follow this one, it occurred to me that I had yet to create this list. Although I’ve done items on a few of them, as this outlet and website continues to grow, I wanted to pay homage to those that have shaped, inspired and influenced my view and love for film.
All of Danny Boyle’s films depict its hero in groundbreaking fashion. His new film “Trance” appears to be on the same path and I can’t wait to see it. Starring James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel, a man’s life depends on him being able to remember the location of a painting.
