A Blast From The Past Series: Star Trek circa 1974

Star Trek was adapted for comics by Gold Key. The first issue was published on July, 1967. This series ran for sixty one issues, through 1979. Lieutenant Uhura, played by Nichelle Nichols, was one of the first positive Black characters on television and also one of the first positive Black characters to appear in a comic book series and later in a Saturday morning animated series.

I Spy is a secret agent TV adventure series that ran for three seasons, from 1965 to 1968. I Spy teamed Robert Culp, who played international tennis player Kelly Robinson with Bill Cosby as his trainer, Alexander Scott. I Spy was groundbreaking because it was the first American television drama to feature a Black actor, Bill Cosby, in a lead role.
