Bruno Mars is without question a Funk-A-Teer!  He recently wrecked stages at the Grammy and iHeart awards, kicking off an International tour later this month, this weekend he does two nights in Vegas.  I’ve been feeling Mars’ music since his collaboration w/ B.o.B. on “They’ve Got Nothing on You.”  Now he’s a worldwide sensation.

Not too long ago, Laurence Fishburne played “Dr. Raymond Langston” in CBS’ CSI series, but first he was Dr. Joshua “Josh” Hall (#1) on “One Life to Live” on ABC TV from ’73 to ’76; he did a television movie, then began a career in film.  He took on a role with Pee Wee’s Playhouse as “Cowboy Curtis” from 86 to 90; and most recently was “Jack Crawford” in the small screen version of “Hannibal,” that was based on the character made famous in the Oscar award winning film, “The Silence of the Lambs.”

It’s official, Andre 3000 of OutKast, real name Andre Benjamin has been cast to portray Jimi Hendrix in the biopic “All Is By My Side.”  Benjamin’s name was mentioned a few years ago about taking on the role, but rumors died after about a month or so.  “All Is By My Side” will be set in the 1960s just before the release of Jimi’s debut album “Are You Experienced.”

According to dime wars.com, Halle Berry is not doing the role of Aretha Franklin. On the site it reads: Halle Berry was recently named as a contender for playing the lead in the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic. However, it seems that Halle Berry is not interested in the role.

Aretha, “The Queen of Soul,” Franklin has chosen Halle Berry and Denzel Washington to star in her forthcoming biopic. Berry would portray Franklin in the film, that some folks find kind of strange that she didn’t pick a singer to portray her. Back in 2007, Franklin spoke about Jennifer Hudson being perfect for the job backstage at that year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony.
