All true Prince friends, fans and admirers don’t believe he makes any bad music, we just like some of his albums more than others. I honestly have not heard all of his releases, in their entirety over the past several years, but his latest CD “HIT n RUN” is FUN!
April 7th, 2015 would mark the 100th birthday, of the legendary Billie Holiday! Born on April 7th, 1915 in Philadelphia, her innovative vocal style has influenced a multitude of singers around the world, over the past century.
In the midst of societal ills and personal challenges I look to family and music for solace. Holy Moly! There are a few things that I am remiss about discovering at this juncture and some new releases and tunes forthcoming that I’m very excited to hear. I enjoy both, those that give it to me straight and those that flow with a melody.
It’s amazing how we meet people some times and have an instant bond with them. “We took a liking to him right away”, “There’s just something about her you love”, we’ve all heard at some point or at least (hopefully) in context. Such was the case for me with Amy Winehouse almost ten years ago now.
