The handwritings been on the wall for some time now. Once the advent of legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes came into existence, the evolution of decriminalization and recreational use, was on its way – now it’s arrived.
The Last Frontier is legalizing weed! The state is already among the 13 states in the union where marijuana is decriminalized. Marijuana is decriminalized, legal medicinally (see here: http://medicalmarijuana.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000881), or both — in 25 of America’s United States. This video is my short film that was featured in two festivals in 2007 in New York, NY and on the isle of Martha’s Vineyard, MA. It discusses cannabis culture in Amsterdam, Holland and makes the distinction between legalization and decrminalization of marijuana. Decriminalization is the abolition of criminal penalties in relation to certain acts, perhaps retroactively, though perhaps regulated permits or fines might still apply.
