There is no FUNKIN’ “Middle-Class.” Dear friends, associates, lovers of this website and random blog readers, ever since G. W. Bush Funked Up the economy, the “Middle-Class” has ceased to exist. Sure, for the most part the Working Class – those with ambition – have been ok, but unless you’re bringing in a minimum of 200-250k, you are not of today’s “Middle-Class.” It’s cold ain’t it, but it’s real – the sooner you accept this reality, the more equipped you will be to change it.
In the midst of turmoil, even when the worst of matters are smacking folks of all cultures in the face, a spade gon’ be a spade. “Call a Spade a Spade”: To tell the truth about something, even if it is not polite or pleasant. Pertaining to ethnicity, the phrase predates the use of the word “spade” as an ethnic slur against black people, which was not recorded until 1928. This item encompasses a bit of both regarding recent public and personal occurrences.
Some television shows celebrate their 200th episode. Unless I’ve completely lost it, this is my 200th blog — no, I haven’t lost it, it is my 200th blog. 20 blogs per page, at 10 pages, equals 200 right? 20 X 10 = 200. Generally T-V programs will review and/ or reflect on shows past, when celebrating the 200th show. That’s very appropriate for television, and I suppose I could touch on a few of my favorite blogs over the past five years, but I believe speaking on public figures that are anti-FUNK or just plain FUNKED UP may be more intriguing.
The end of stigmas in sports overall would be a tremendous human achievement. The reality of that actually occurring is very slim, but the courage that NBA B-Ball player Jason Collins has displayed is unprecedented. As a result he got unprecedented support from fellow NBA players and President Barack Obama — our hats here at The Museum of UnCut Funk come off to him. There’s not even much I can say, here’s an excerpt of the interview from the source that broke the story, Sports Illustrated…
There is nothing like a frosty glass of beer to go along with a great bowl of chili and a spicy debate. I already posted the Obama family’s chili recipe. Here is President Obama’s Official White House Beer recipe to complete your debate menu. Enjoy!
Who doesn’t like chili, let alone the first family…ok so if you’re a republican you might not. Since the debates are this week I thought it would be really cool to serve the Obama Family Chili recipe while watching President Obama debate his challenger into the ground. Here’s to you Mr. President!!!
The Museum Of UnCut Funk has taken a very different approach to collecting items that are relevant to our cultural experience. As children of the 1970’s, we are dedicated to collecting artifacts from what we believe is one of the greatest decades ever. We have also been blessed to bear witness to the election of the first Black President in American history, Barack Obama, one of the greatest historic events in our lifetime. As President Obama is also a child of the 1970’s, it makes sense for The Museum of UnCut Funk to collect artifacts that highlight his Presidential achievement, in our own unique way. Thus we have added The Barack Obama Comic Book Collection to our archive.
