  • Comic strips were introduced during the same decade as the Brown V. Board Of Education supreme court ruling and subsequent desegregation of  Little Rock Central High School, provides cultural context
  • Positive character from the Civil Rights era when there were very few
  • Novelty – never been exhibited before
