Bill Withers is a living legend. He is unquestionably, the most regular famous guy, I have had the fortune to talk to. When Sony/ Columbia Records released a greatest hits collection of his music titled, “The Best of Bill Withers: Lean on Me” back in 2000, I had the honor of doing a phoner interview with him.

According to Variety, Producer David Sonenberg has begun work on a musical version of “When We Were Kings,” the Oscar-winning 1996 documentary about the Rumble in the Jungle, the legendary 1974 heavyweight title bout in Zaire between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. The Museum of UnCut Funk continues to celebrate the best decade ever with a review of Poster Art from funky music based films that helped to create the soundtrack of the 1970’s.
Sade is not a funk band, nor is the lead singer for which the band was named a Funk vocalist, but I don’t believe anyone would dispute that they have given us some Funky music. To that end, her voice has definitely lifted many souls from a Funky place with her soothing tone.
