FUNKY BROADWAY – “The Trip to Bountiful” w/ Cicely, Cuba and Vanessa!
Tom Hanks is making his Broadway debut this season in Nora Ephron’s final play “Lucky Guy.” Bette Midler is even returning to the “Great White Way” for a one-woman-show in “I’ll Eat You Last,” where she’ll depict the life of Hollywood agent Sue Mengers. Although shows with Tom and Bette are exciting, after a 30-year absence, acclaimed actress Cicely Tyson returns to the stage for “The Trip to Bountiful” – that’s entertainment!
TYLER’S FUNKIN’ TEMPTATION/ KASI’S BLACK NATIVITY
Tyler’s back with a new drama called “Temptation.” Starring Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Jurnee’s not a junior miss anymore. Initially intrigued to watch the trailer by an ad with huge ruby red lips in the subway, I didn’t recognize Smollett when I first saw the trailer.

FUNKin’ Racism Still
Two black men, a Latino and a Greek woman were talking about racism… No, this is not the opening line of a joke, yet an unfortunate actual occurrence. It’s truly amazing how prevalent racism is today, especially when you consider how far we’ve come.
No More Record Stores? Too Funky!!!
WTF – This is TOO FUNKY!!! Although I’ve known this was coming for about a year now, I was immediately thrown into an unsavory FUNK when I attempted to visit the Virgin Mega Store in Times Square the other day. IT’S CLOSED – as mentioned, I knew it was coming, but since it’s been awhile since I frequented the establishment, I’d forgotten the date it was closing… for good. “You can go down to the one in Union Square,” said Tony (a long-time friend and fellow FUNK lover). “No,” I said, “both locations are closed.”
