A FUNKIN’ PSA on AMERICAN TRAVESTY – The Tragedy of Michael Brown

FROM THE WASHINGTON POST:  “A grand jury has declined to indict Darren Wilson, the white Ferguson, Mo. police officer whose fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager sparked days of turbulent protests and a national conversation about race and police interactions with African Americans, prosecutors said Monday.  The decision means that Wilson, 28, will face no state charges in the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.”

Cousin Stevie’s Memories – Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life” in Boston

Stevie Wonder is taking “Songs in the Key of Life” on the road!  He initially announced the tour about a year ago, but dates for the road trip, hit the Internet just last month.  I got the news via http://insideplaya.wordpress.com about a week or so ago!  I didn’t recall having heard about it before –  then I spoke to a fellow Wonder lovers, and they too said they hadn’t heard yet either.  I am generally the one to hear about major music events among my immediate family and friends — then our cousin Stevie told us that he wanted to write something for The Museum of UnCut Funk.  His inspiration, to talk about his memories connected to the album, made me begin to think of mine…

“Knock-Out” MUST STOP! Have You Heard About This?

“Knock-Out” MUST STOP! Have You Heard About This?

Indelibly on my brain are thoughts of loved ones and experiences that have shaped who I am.  Most memories I cherish – there’s a few I’m not so fond of, and a couple I’d like to forget.  As every individual is made up of how they have lived and what one eats — what the hell is in the water of the ignorant children taking part in this detrimental “game” called “Knock Out”?

MICHAEL JACKSON: STILL FUNKY – RARE INTERVIEWS

MICHAEL JACKSON: STILL FUNKY – RARE INTERVIEWS

Michael Jackson would be 55 today (8/29) if he were still among us.  Michael’s mom Katherine Jackson and his two eldest children Prince (16) and Paris (15), are currently in the midst of a lawsuit against concert promoters AEG Live, charging them with “Wrongful Death.”  AEG’s position is, Jackson was already using drugs that took his life when they began their contractual agreement.  On August 14, Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe took the stand in the pending case.  Rowe was called as a defense witness for AEG, and testified as her former mother-in-law Katherine sat in the front row.

FUNKALICIOUS 200!! THE BREAKDOWN OF HANDKERCHIEF HEADS

FUNKALICIOUS 200!! THE BREAKDOWN OF HANDKERCHIEF HEADS
