Lauryn Hill’s got a new song. Titled “Repercussions,” it’s right in pocket for where Hill fans would want her to be. The groove and lyrics of the track are classic “L Boogie.”
Although there’s no word on a new CD yet, friends and fans were ecstatic to see her at the recent “Rock The Bells” concert in New York (see previous Funkin’ Lauryn Hill blog). Check out “Reprecussions” below:
Eric Benet is about to drop a new CD. Titled “Lost in Time,” it hits stores and will be available online as of November 23rd. In related news, according to Billboard, Benet was recently blown away after hearing one of rapper Lil Wayne’s favorite songs is his single “Sometimes I Cry.” “That was dope. It’s a huge compliment,” Benet tells Billboard.com. “He’s sitting somewhere where he is contemplating on life, so, to be drawn to my song while he’s going through those things, it means even more. To me it means maturity.” “I only listen to slow jams and ESPN… Oh, and if you haven’t heard the new song by Eric Benet, ‘Sometimes I Cry,’ please stop what you’re doing and check it out,” Wayne wrote in his latest letter from jail, posted on his weezythanxyou.com blog site. “It’s the best song I’ve heard since Maxwell’s ‘Woman’s Worth.’ Wayne is referring to “Woman’s Work, Maxwell’s remake of the Kate Bushhit. “It’s for grown folk. I actually listen to the radio all day waiting for that song,” says Wayne. “Sometimes I Cry” is currently logged at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Adult R&B Airplay chart. “Lost in Time” will be Benet’s fifth studio release.
