Prince is hitting the road. His majesty announced the upcoming “Welcome 2 America” tour will kick off on a “Purple day in December,” but he didn’t say where. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Apollo Theater in Harlem recently.
Joining his highness and the New Power Generation will be Maceo Parker, Janelle Monae and Graham Central Station, among others. Prince reignighted the FUNK of Larry Graham back in 1998. During the same time, he also produced an album for Chaka Khan. The three of them toured together shortly there after, promoting their new union and respective CD releases.
