P!nk’s new single “True Love” parallels the theme of her new movie “Thanks for Sharing.” A story about recovering sex addicts, P!nk plays “Dede”, one of several participants in a twelve-step program for sex addiction. In the process,”Dede” may actually find ‘true love’ for the first time. The video for “True Love” has been getting a lot of attention, as it’s reflective of the entertainer’s actual life.
“True Love” features British “pop-star” Lily Allen, that’s FUNKY. P!nk is FUNKY because she’s been puttin’ it down for over 10 years. One who learned quickly to be genuine between her first and second albums, she was fortunate to have L.A. Reid as a mentor that let her do her thang on her CD “Missundaztood.” “Missundaztood” alone establishes P!nk’s FUNK, but she solidified it with her single “Stupid Girls” from her album “I’m Not Dead.” That release also featured a duet with the Indigo Girls on the song “Dear Mr. President”, where P!nk made a political statement asking valid social questions — FUNKIER even still.
Currently on tour, P!nk has dates throughout Australia now til’ the end of August. After a break in September, she’ll hit Canada and the U.S., closing with dates in Philly, Boston, Newark, Brooklyn, Birmingham and Atlanta on December 14th. Here’s some Funky clips of the show.
P!nk, real name Alecia Moore, now has six albums to her credit including: “Can’t Take Me Home”; “M!ssundaztood”; “Try This”; “I’m Not Dead”; “Funhouse”; and “The Truth About Love.” She also released a “Greatest Hits So Far!!!” CD that has sold over 30 million copies – very FUNKY. Internationally sales for P!nk’s singles, records and DVDs have done extremely well — Fifteen of her singles have reached number-one in at least one or more countries. The winner of three Grammy Awards, she’s also attained honors from Billboard and MTV and was even bestowed a “People’s Choice Award.”
P!nk’s new film doesn’t mark her first time on the silver screen, but it’s certainly one of her biggest roles. In addition to multiple soundtrack contributions, she’s also appeared in the movies “Rollerball”; “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle”; “Catacombs”; “Get Him to the Greek” and “Happy Feet 2” as the voice of “Gloria.” “My life was once whiskey, tears, and cigarettes, now it’s snot, tears, and the color of poop,” P!nk tweeted last month about her transition to becoming a mother. P!nk has a 2-year-old daughter named Willow and is married to motocross racer Carey Hart. Her new movie “Thanks for Sharing” that also stars Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Gad and Tim Robbins, hits theaters on September 13th.
