According to CBS’s website: 25-time Grammy Award winner Stevie Wonder will be honored in a star-studded musical primetime special “Stevie Wonder: Songs In The Key Of Life — An All-Star GRAMMY Salute.” It airs on CBS next Monday, February 16th at 9pm/8pm central.
The two-hour special will celebrate Stevie Wonder’s incomparable songbook, with incredible performances by Janelle Monáe, seven-time Grammy Award winner Chris Martin of Coldplay, 11-time Grammy winner Willie Nelson, and eight-time Grammy winner Usher.
They’ll salute the only artist to have received “Album Of The Year” honors three out of four consecutive years with “Innervisions” (1973), “Fulfillingness’ First Finale” (1974) and “Songs In The Key Of Life” (1976). Additionally, presenters and archival material will show how Stevie Wonder’s music has played a part in history and changed lives through the decades.
In other Wonder news, last month he added 11 more dates to his “Songs in the Key of Life” tour, that he’s been playing in its entirety. The new leg of the show kicks off on St. Patrick’s Day in Denver and wraps in Brooklyn on April 12th at Barclay’s. The first leg of the tour, Wonder performed evening shows, most of the dates this time occur during the day.
