Darnell Johnson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After graduating from high school he moved to Atlanta. He attended Atlanta Art College of Design, which later merged with Savannah College of Art and Design, where he received a B.F.A in sequential art with a minor in painting.
His gift to express his thoughts creatively through art is a blessing from God. His passion for animation started with the Saturday morning cartoons and feature films made by Disney. As he got older, his interests broadened into video games and comics mostly for the art. Once in high school he started thinking about a career in art, narrowing it down to the entertainment industry. It wasn’t until after college that he started to focus on pursuing a career in the animation industry as a visual development artist. He enjoys telling stories through his art. Sometimes he feels he is able to communicate visually better than he can verbally.
