We’re gonna turn you on. We’re gonna bring you the power. Come on and sing along if you know it…

I had completely forgotten that Bill Cosby and Morgan Freeman were in this show. But when I went back and looked at the videos from the show it all came back to me. I remembered all of the characters they played. I absolutely remember Rita Moreno and her very loud yell “Hey You Guys”. I also remember Lee Chamberlain and Hattie Winston. Like all PBS shows from the 1970’s, The Electric Company had a great, multicultural ensemble cast. What was there not to love about The Electric Company. The word blends. The corny skits. The cool Short Circus kids with their hip color coordinated outfits. Every school aged kid improved their reading and vocabulary skills by watching this show back then, me being one of them. Thank you PBS!!!
