Zoom was a television series that originally ran from 1972 to 1978 on PBS. The series was produced by WGBH-TV in Boston. That’s Zoom, Z-DOUBLE O-M, Box 350, Boston, Mass, 0-2-1-3-4. Oh yeah, you know you watched and sang along until the the closing theme song was done.
I wonder what my childhood would have been like if politicians back then would have cut funding for PBS. No public television? No Zoom? No Electric Company? No Sesame Street? Are you kidding me??? These groundbreaking kids educational programs would have never made it to network television, and generations of kids would have suffered because of their politically short sided b.s. The war against children that is being waged in this country has to stop!!!
I loved Zoom. Transitioned from Sesame Street to The Electric Company right to Zoom without missing a beat. The kids were cool. The stripped shirts – I wanted one. H-ub-i, mo-fo’s. Yes, I spoke the language. Did that crazy thing with my arms. How are you? What do you do? We need you. Come on and zoom, zoom, zooma, zoom. This show was the shit!
