Now that summer is over, I’ve given some thought to my short list of fall adventures. I will be heading north to one of my favorite spots on the eastern seaboard, Captain Scott’s Lobster Dock in New London, Connecticut. I traveled the Connecticut coast line last summer. I must say that Connecticut has some of the best public and private beaches around. The water is beautiful and clean and the seafood is exceptional. Captain Scott’s is worth the 3 hour drive coming and going.
One event that I get a kick out of attending is New York Comic Con. The Museum of UnCut Funk has secured press passes and will capture all of the geeks and freaks in attendance who are passionate about their superheroes, sci fi and fantasy adventures. New York Comic Con is October 11 – 14, 2012 at the Javits Center.
We have also applied for press passes to The New York Food and Wine Festival. This is the first year the Museum has applied for press passes. If we don’t get them we will still be in attendance (that is if we can score tickets). New York Food and Wine Festival runs the same time as Comic Con, so that will be a busy weekend for me.
I will be heading back to Broadway to catch the classic Porgy and Bess before the September 26th closing. In addition to that I’m looking forward to seeing Sistas The Musical. Best kept secret I’ve learned this summer….buy the nose bleed seats cause you can still see the performance and will enjoy the play just as much.
Finally before the Thanksgiving holiday I will be traveling to DC to see the Martin Luther King Memorial. I know this will be a breathtaking experience.
