Turner, 73, originally from Tennessee, became a Swiss citizen earlier this year.  She told German newspaper ‘Blick,’ “I’m very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here.  I cannot imagine a better place to live.”  Turner didn’t go the traditional route wearing white for her wedding, instead she opted for a green taffeta and black silk design by Giorgio Armani.

Turner told Hello! magazine she spotted the gown at a fashion show in Beijing and had to have it.  Tina on stage 2“I thought, ‘I gotta have that, even if I never wear it.’  Then I thought, ‘I know, that will be my wedding dress!’”  The dress was embellished with Swarovski crystals.  All her female guests wore white per her request, and men wore black tie.  She went on to tell Hello! that she considers the stage of her life “nirvana,” “It’s that happiness that people talk about, when you wish for nothing, when you can finally take a deep breath and say, ‘Everything is good,’” she said – “It’s a wonderful place to be.”Tina Turner Hello!

A practicing Buddhist, Turner described her ceremony as “The American tradition I grew up with, tailoring it a little bit to me.”  According to Swiss media, 120 guests were invited to the event at their abode, the Chateau Algonquin estate in the Kuesnacht municipality.  Tina's HousePolice spokeswoman Esther Surber told AFP that the zone was cordoned off “not because Tina Turner wants this (but) to avoid many boats” from crowding near the manor in Kuesnacht, on Lake Zurich.  Turner and Bach jetted off to Italy after the wedding for their honeymoon.Tina & Erwin

Tina’s marriage to Erwin marks the second for the celebrity.  Turner was previously wed to the late Ike Turner from 1962 to 1976.  Ike died from a cocaine overdose in 2007.  He physically abused Tina, who wrote about it in her memoir “I, Tina.”  The book was later adapted for the screen via the movie “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” that starred Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne.Tina & Ike
