Costanera Cocina Peruana

Two days after Hurricane Sandy struck I was finally able to get out and see the devastation in my New Jersey neighborhood. What a mess. After driving through several towns I ended up in Montclair, New Jersey, because they had power. Looking for a place to get a hot cup of soup, I went to Costanera Cocina Peruana located on the main drag…Bloomfield Ave.

I had heard about this joint on Neighborhood Eats on Channel 4 some time ago. The food was really good. After being stuck in a cold house due to the hurricane, a hot cup of soup was exactly what I needed.

I ordered the lunch special for $11.95. I got Aguadito de Pollo, which is a classic chicken, cilantro and rice soup, Estofado de Pollo, a Tomato and Aji-Panca braised chicken with potatoes, peas and carrots. For an additional $4.00 I had the Tres Leches Cake.
