As I walked up Ninth Ave in New York I noticed this really cool building that had an interesting facade…lots of metal. It was The New York Times building. Then I noticed this really cool looking food spot, Schnippers Quality Kitchen located in the cool looking building. Home cooked comfort food on Ninth Ave near Port Authority no less. I decided to check it out.

As you know I was on a “find the best burger tour” this summer. So when I passed this joint I had to go in. There is a huge menu that adorns the wall as you enter the restaurant. The interior setting reminds me of The Jetsons animated cartoon…guess I’m aging myself. Anyways, I had enough time before the Broadway show that I was on my way to see so I ordered a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries and a bag of their homemade cajun potato chips. My foodie partner in crime had a turkey burger and a really really thick chocolate shake.

The place is very busy and loud, so if you are eating by yourself you may not be able to hear yourself think. I did enjoy my burger…but Shake Shack is still my #1 burger joint.
